I have been making Ukrainian eggs since I was 18 and have been fascinated by them since I was a little girl. They are made by taking a egg and emptying its inside so only the shell is left. After, it is dipped in dye and then lines of wax are drawn on. This is done every time a new color is put on and the process is repeated. When the artwork is done, the wax is removed, and then a acrylic coat is put on to protect the dyes. The eggs symbols have many meanings. Some eggs are traditional and some are contemporary. They make great gifts for mothers, sisters, friends, and can be given for any event.
